Europe built 19 GW of new wind energy capacity in 2022. 16 GW of those were in the EU. That’s 40% up on 2021. But it’s much less than what’s needed for the EU’s 2030 goals. And investments in new wind farms and new wind turbine orders were down in 2022. 87% of the new wind capacity Europe built last year was onshore. Germany in particular has one of the largest onshore wind power capacities in the world. But inflation and market interventions are undermining investment. The web seminar gives an insight in the current situation regarding the financing of onshore wind energy, informs about financing conditions in Europe, the developments in the European power and PPA markets and how to deal with market risks.
Our experts will answer these and other questions in this web seminar organised by the German Wind Energy Association:
- What is the role of financing wind energy within financing the green transition?
- Current framework of project financing in onsite wind energy
- Developments in the electricity markets
- PPA prices and deals in 2022
- How to deal with market risks?
- Investing in European onshore wind assets: Identifying key value drivers
